Moisture check
We identify any active leaks or condensation issues first. Insulation over a wet wall makes things worse, not better.

We seal the rim joist and any wall penetrations.

Closed cell spray foam on rim joists and often on walls.

Encapsulate
We install a vapour barrier on the ground, seal the perimeter, and insulate the walls.

Common questions
Should I insulate the ceiling or the walls of my crawl space?+
In a heated home we insulate the walls of the crawl space and seal the vents. Ceiling insulation belongs in unheated crawl spaces only.
Will insulation trap water?+
Not when it is installed correctly. Closed cell foam is the water barrier, so any moisture stays outside the wall. We inspect for active leaks before we start.
